I have used every synth in Logic Pro and in combination to try and achieve the type of sounds that I used to have with the D50 and MX1000 and the best I could get was "close but no cigar".įriday I was in GC and saw Absynth4 on sale/clearance for $97.I thought "what the heck" and picked it up. the Mutator to generate completely new complex sounds with just a few clicks. I can choose one sound for each little window in Sampletank and line up my sequencers outputs for them, giving me 16 instruments to play. And the Mx1000 for slow evolving analog soundscapes. Its a notation package, one stave one sound, I put in all the notes with the mouse, prefer working that way. The D50 for its unique combination of crisp sampled sounds with a smooth analog backend. My two favorite synths back in the 80's were the Roland D50 and the Oberheim Matrix 1000.
